What started out as a hobby turned into a passion.  I have purchased dozens and dozens of manufactured fishing rods from $25 up to several hundred dollars. None of them performed exactly the way I wanted them to. Being a perfectionist when it comes to fishing, I decided that--since I couldn't get what I wanted at the sporting goods store-- I would make one myself. The results were dramatic.  Maybe it was the action. Maybe it was the way it felt in my hand. Maybe it was because it was exactly the way I wanted it.  I believe it was the Karma of having a hand built fishing rod that was made for the purpose of exploring the outdoors, being on the water, being one with the fish I pursued, and having confidence that, with MY rod in my hand, I was going to catch more and bigger fish.
